Dear Sarah, Please rest easy knowing that no tragedy will happen to you because you are not on either Facebook or Instagram. Up to now, even though I keep getting notices from facebook that I have countless people reaching out to me, I have avoided it. (I only opened an account to read my daughter's anouncements regarding her concerts, and now I wish I hadn't.) I have never been on Instagram. I spend way too much time deleting emails--even more time than the ones I read and subscribe to. Plus, I hate to read on that little thing--I prefer my computer. I hope you can avoid the temptation to "go back". You now have more time in your life, right?

I do have to confess, I take way too many photos and don't SEE enough. I keep thinking they are scenes I would like to paint, but I haven't picked up a brush in ten years!

Hi Sarah, Check-out Naomi Brockwell TV on You Tube. You could remove your cell phone SIM while carrying a Personnel Hot Spot, if they are available in Mexico. This will stop you being tracked and prevent your information being sold by your provider. Also I believe putting your phone on Airplane Mode while out walking may prevent tracking, but I’m not sure about that.

Thanks, Ted! Honestly, I have so few illusions of privacy...mostly I want to keep myself from being sucked in, haha!

Yes!!! Thanks. On Youtube there's many doctors, I started with Dr Ken Berry, then I started meeting people like Kerry with Homestead How, and his friend Bill Nott in Alaska. I have donated to both of them, for Bill because he lost over 100 pounds and hard to find meat (low cost) in Alaska, so proud of him, and Kerry, he went to Alaska to help Bill, I was on his live YT shows last night, had many guests. He's making a movie and I contributed to his fund. The word needs to get out. I have lost my inflammation, lower blood pressure, off the meds, taking WAY less insulin now, A1C has gone down, all my docs are amazed, circulation is better, the Vascular surgeon saw my feet, all wrinkly, no more puffiness and said my circulation is great (after he read the results of the ultrasound on my legs) , But eh FB groups get all crazy, I have plenty of positive places I can go, YT has lots of recipes too. I call those "Karen's" "armchair quarterbacks", hiding in the shadows and instigating dumb conversations which brings on the arguments. All this on my laptop, kinda hard to see idiots on my phone. lol

I won’t lie, I’m intrigued, but I’m also a very guilty-feeling ex-vegetarian 😂

There has been many vegans and vegetarians that have switched to carnivore when they realize plants don't have the nutrition that meat does. I just ate 2 ribeyes, delicious, and full of nutrients. Sometimes I miss grapefruit as a nighttime snack but bad for sugar intake. Now I have no cravings. If I need a munchie, I can "fry" cottage cheese on parchment paper in the microwave for about 5 or 6 minutes, yummy chips. Many carnivore people on Youtube are experimenting, good for them, I dont have that kind of time.

You are so right! It's a double edged sword. Only we can control how we spend our time. I just removed myself from about 100 FB groups, it started out with the carnivore diet groups, all they do is fight, get political, when I need info on MEAT. I left after I got attacked a few times, doing nothing wrong, they were getting cultish. Then I realized I had many groups that serve no purpose, so I weeded the garden. Felt good to have some sort of control, LOL.

Yeah, it’s so weird! I feel like social media is like driving…it’s easy to get super mad and just be our worst selves toward others when we’re on it if we feel we’ve been slighted…and half the time the other person doesn’t even realize they’ve offended you! I hope you’re able to get your carnivore diet tips somewhere! :D

Some years ago I got seriously into still photography--until I realized that looking through a viewfinder I always wasn't finding the context of the view. As a cultural anthropologist, photography hindered more than it helped. So I totally understand whereof you speak, Sarah. Nice post!

Oh, very interesting! I’ve never really gotten into photography, mostly because I’m not very good at it, haha. But I know what you mean about always having to see things through SOMETHING, as if not having a tool made things a little too distilled and at the same time all over the place? Not sure if that makes much sense. Once I had a really good mushroom trip, though, that took those “this is too much” feelings away…it felt like becoming a god or something. Not that I don’t think practices like that could ALSO get out of hand, because that just seems to be how our brains are set up.
